Our Called Workers

James Douglas, Pastor
Pastor Douglas graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN
in 2001 with his Bachelor of Arts Degree, and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary
in Mequon, WI with his Masters of Divinity in 2005. He received additional
education through Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary for pastoral leadership.
He served Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pierre, SD as pastor for five years
(2005-2010), and St. Paul Lutheran Church & School in Wisconsin Rapids,
WI for six years (2010-2016) before arriving at Grace in 2016. During his
ministry, he has served as a Circuit Pastor and as a Pastoral Advisor for
the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS). Jim and his wife Sarah
have five children.

Brent Bitter, Staff Minister
Mr. Bitter received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education & Staff Ministry
in 1998 from Martin Luther College. He received additional education
in administration at Florida State College of Jacksonville as well as
Stanly Community College.  He served Victory Lutheran Church in 
Jacksonville, FL as staff minister of education, outreach, youth ministry
and administration for 13 years (1998-2011), and Hope Lutheran Church
as a youth & family minister for one year (2011-12) before coming to
Grace in 2012. During his ministry, he has served as the Vice-Chairman and
Chairman of the WELS Staff Minister Conference, the Treasurer of the Cypress
Conference, the South Atlantic District Youth Discipleship Chairman, a member
of the South Atlantic District Evangelism Commission, and a member of the 
Martin Luther College Alumni Board. Brent and his wife Kristin have one child.

Laura Tyler, Teacher
Laura is a 2007 graduate of Martin Luther College, receiving her
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Minnesota teaching license.
She has received additional education in Early Childhood Education through
Central Piedmont Community College. Laura served Garden Homes Lutheran
School in Milwaukee, WI as a teacher (2007-08), St. John’s Lutheran School in
Libertyville, IL as a teacher (2008-09), and here at Grace Lutheran Church as
a child care teacher since 2009. In addition to teaching our preschoolers,
Laura is involved in the Sunday School at Grace.

Emily Shank, Teacher
Emily graduated from Martin Luther College in 2015 with her Bachelor’s Degree
in Early Childhood Education and a Minnesota teaching license. Emily has
served Grace as a child care teacher since her graduation. In addition
to teaching our 3 year-olds, Emily assists with the worship ministry at Grace.

Sarah Krajewski, Teacher/Director
Sarah graduated from Martin Luther College in 2013 with her
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Minnesota teaching
license. She has completed additional Early Childhood studies at Stanly
Community College. Sarah has served Grace as a child care teacher since
her graduation.In addition to leading the Two's classroom, Sarah manages
enrollment and staff scheduling. She also leads the fellowship ministry.

Tina Paustian, Teacher
Tina and her husband Dave relocated to Charlotte in 2016 and Tina began
working with Grace's child care ministry that year. She graduated from
Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN with a Bachelor's Degree in
Elementary Education. She served as an elementary school teacher at
St. John'sLutheran Church in Wrightstown, WI, Trinity in Caledonia, WI
and Wisconsin Lutheran School in Racine WI. Tina has experience teaching
grades 2-5 in addition to the toddlers at Grace. She has served her
congregations as President of the Women's Mission Society, drama production
coordinator, and choir leader and has been part of a school accreditation
team on five ocassions. Tina and her husband Dave have three grown
children and one grandchild.

Chryll Salow, Teacher
Chryll and her husband Wayne both joined Grace in 2010 after retiring
from teaching in Michigan. Chryll began working with Grace Child Care
Center in 2012. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood
Education from Michigan State University and a Master's Degree in Reading,
as well as an EDSP in Curriculum Development from Eastern Michigan
University. Before working with infants at Grace, Chryll taught kindergarten,
grades 1, 2 & 6 during her teaching career. She led a variety of school
committees and received multiple teacher awards, including Teacher
of the Year. Chryll has served on a variety of church committees and taught
Sunday School inservice to her Savior.  Chryll and Wayne have two grown
children as well as two grandchildren.
